Family Law & Mediation

Divorce Court, Mediation, and Collaborative Approaches
At Clarus Law, we understand that going through a divorce or dealing with family law issues can be draining both emotionally and financially.  The emotional and financial stress tends to increase when the case goes to court.

But, getting divorced or resolving a family law issue does not necessarily require a nasty and expensive court battle.  There are alternatives to going to court, including mediation and a collaborative approach.

Mediation and a collaborative approach offer the benefits of being less expensive and more efficient than litigation.  Both mediation and a collaborative approach are client-driven and confidential, whereas a court case is public and the outcome is determined by the judge.  Finally, in a collaborative approach, each client has their own attorney, as well as the support of a team of coaches and specialists, as they are needed.  For a more complete discussion of each approach, please click on the following links:  Mediated Divorce, Collaborative Divorce, Court Divorce.

During each initial meeting with a new client, we discuss the client’s particular situation, interests, and goals, helping the client to select the most suitable option for going forward.  Regardless of the approach needed in the particular case, Clarus Law has the experience and skill to assist the client every step of the way.  Cynthia Perrin is a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar, an experienced divorce attorney in Los Angeles County and Ventura County Courts, a certified mediator, and a trained collaborative practitioner.  Her broad experience and training enable her to assist clients, whether they require representation in litigation, assistance in mediation, or seek a collaborative solution.
